Cherry Blossom Kids Club

Cherry Blossom Kids Club is over at No 1, V M Balakrishnan Street in Jafferkhanpet. We are located quite close to the R 10 MGR Nagar Police Station. It’s a busy little neighborhood in Chennai. We have this club because we felt there was a need for a local place where kids could spend their time. It isn't a corporate daycare center. It’s more like a community spot. The building is actually a house that we converted to create some space for the children to play and learn. There are toys scattered around and some colorful drawings on the walls, but it’s definitely a lived-in and well-used space. It gets a bit messy and chaotic at times, but that is just what happens when you have a group of kids around. We spend our days organizing small activities and making sure the little ones are looked after. It can get pretty loud in the afternoons, especially when everyone is excited. The street outside is usually full of people going about their business. We know almost all the parents by their names because they live right nearby. We don't have a formal reception desk or a lobby. You just walk in and you'll find one of us. We try to keep things organized, but we don't follow a strict corporate manual. It’s just a simple, local place for the kids in Jafferkhanpet. It feels like home to us.
