Everest Saloon

We’ve been at No 35 Burrah Sahib Street for quite a while now. Most folks find us easily because we are just behind Srinivasa Hotel. It’s a busy spot in Triplicane with people always moving around. The shop isn't fancy, just some chairs and mirrors where we do our work every day. Usually, it gets pretty crowded on weekends with people coming in from around the neighborhood. Sometimes the fans are going full speed because of the Chennai heat but that's just how it is here. We start early in the morning. People stop by for a quick trim or a shave before heading to work or after picking up something from the nearby shops. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a big receptionist or anything like that. You just walk in and wait your turn on the wooden bench. My tools are kept clean and I've been using the same brand of scissors for years because they feel right in my hand. We talk about the local news or whatever is happening on the street while we work. It's mostly just regular guys from the area who have been coming here since they were kids. The location is tucked away a bit but if you know the area, you know where we are. It’s just Everest Saloon, nothing more and nothing less. We keep the floor swept and the water ready for the next person. It’s what we do.
