We are based at No. 20 on the Medavakkam Main Road. It’s a good spot in Madipakkam because everyone passes by here at some point in the day. Our office is small, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need inside. Divya Real Estate has been around for some time now. We handle a bit of everything, from small flats to some of the bigger houses further back from the main road. The traffic outside can be quite loud, so we usually keep the door shut. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers. We don't use any fancy software, just our old ledgers and a lot of phone calls. People in Madipakkam like to talk face to face, so we get a lot of walk-ins. Some people just want to know what their house is worth these days. We tell them what we know based on recent sales. It isn't always what they want to hear, but we try to be honest about the market. Dealing with the paperwork for the registrar’s office is the hardest part of the job. It takes up so much time. We stay open late most nights because that’s when people finish work and have time to look at properties. It’s a living, and it keeps us connected to the community here.
