Avanthikas Herbal Beauty Parlour

Down in Triplicane, there is a lot of history and old buildings everywhere. Our shop, Avanthikas Herbal Beauty Parlour, is on Phycrofts Road, specifically at number 46/20. This part of Chennai is always moving, with cycles and autos zooming past all day long. We have been sitting here for a long time, watching the street change. It is a simple herbal parlour. We do not use those harsh chemicals that you find in the big city salons. People here like the old ways better, using things that are good for the skin and hair. Most of our days are spent doing simple things like oil massages or hair washes for the ladies who live in the nearby flats. The room is usually filled with the scent of dried herbs and oils. It is a small place, so you can always hear the tea shop next door or the bells from the temple nearby. We do not have any uniforms or fancy receptionists. You just walk in and we see if we have a chair free for you. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have the fans on high. Many of our customers have been coming to us since they were young girls. Now they bring their own daughters. It is a nice way to spend the day, talking to the neighbors and helping them look a bit better before they head back out.
