Arvind Beauty Parlour

We are located on Kalathiyapa Street in Choolai. The address says New No 136, though many older people around here still call it Old No 69. It is right near the Vepery Post Office, so it isn't hard to find if you are in this part of Chennai. It’s a busy street, and my little shop is just one of many, but we’ve been here quite some time. I mostly handle men's hair and shaves. The shop isn't very large. I have the usual black chairs and a few mirrors on the wall. Sometimes the 600007 humidity gets to be a bit much, but we have a small cooler. I don’t use any fancy apps for booking; you just walk in and wait your turn. My father used to say that a good haircut is about patience, not speed. I try to stick to that. It’s a bit noisy outside with the traffic, but inside it is just the sound of scissors and maybe a radio playing. We aren't looking to expand or anything. This one shop keeps me busy enough. Most of my regulars have been coming for years, some since they were kids. It’s just a normal part of Choolai life. We keep the floor swept and the tools clean. That’s about it for us. Stop by if you’re near the post office and need a trim.
