THE GAUR

We are located in Sector 43, right at SCO-152-154 on the main road in Chandigarh. Most people find us by looking for the petrol pump nearby, which is a good landmark to have. The Gaur has been operating out of this building for a bit, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. It’s a busy spot, being on the main road, so there’s always something happening outside our doors. We run the place ourselves and don’t really answer to some big company far away. Our day usually starts early, getting everything set up for the people who come through Sector 43. We handle a bit of everything here. It’s not a polished, high-end establishment where you need to dress up. We just want people to feel okay when they walk in. Sometimes the furniture looks a bit worn because people use it a lot, but we try to keep things tidy. Being in Chandigarh, we get a lot of students and office workers stopping in. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to provide what we do and keep the doors open. If the floor is a bit creaky or the wait is a few minutes longer than expected, it’s just because we’re human and doing the best we can with what we have. It’s a local operation, through and through, and we plan to stay that way for as long as we can.
