About Batra Manav Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
Working as an architect out of House No.1145 in Sector -8C means my commute is basically just walking into the next room. Batra Manav Architect is a small operation, and I like it that way because I can keep track of everything myself. The office is tucked away in a residential part of the sector, so it stays fairly peaceful, aside from the occasional street vendor or neighbor's dog. My workspace is dominated by a large monitor and a drafting table that I’ve had since I started out. There are always rolls of tracing paper lying around and a few models made of foam board sitting on the window sill gathering dust. I spend a good chunk of my day talking to contractors or sketching out ideas that might never even be built. It’s a lot of trial and error. Sometimes I’ll sit there for hours just trying to get a staircase to fit into a tight corner on a floor plan. It’s the kind of work that requires patience and a lot of erasers. When people visit the house to talk about their projects, we usually sit in the front room with some tea. It feels more like a conversation between neighbors than a formal meeting. I don't go in for fancy presentations; I just show them what I’ve drawn and explain how it’s going to work. It’s a simple, honest way to run a business. My hands are usually covered in pencil lead by evening.
