Ansari Purse

Down at 41432 Factory Road, you’ll find us in the Indoria Market area of Paharganj. It’s a busy part of town and there’s never a dull moment. We deal with purses mostly. The shop isn't huge, but we make use of every inch of space we have. There are bags hanging from the ceiling and piled up on the floor. It can be a bit of a maze if you don't know your way around. We spend most of our time talking to people who come in looking for something specific. Paharganj has a certain energy to it that you don't find elsewhere in Delhi. There are tourists, locals, and delivery guys everywhere. Our spot in Indoria Market is right in the thick of it. Sometimes we just stand at the door and watch the world go by when things are slow. The fans hum all day to keep the heat down. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is just written down in our ledgers. It’s the way we’ve always done it. The purses come in, we check them over, and they go out to whoever needs them. It’s a simple cycle. We’ve known the guys in the shops next to us for years. It feels like a little community even with all the noise outside. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day.
