Chhabra Purse Palace

Chhabra Purse Palace is located at Shop No. 27 in Indoria Market. We are right by Neem Wala Chowk in the Nabi Karim area of Paharganj. This part of the city is always packed with people and goods moving around. You can barely walk sometimes because of all the rickshaws and people carrying big bags on their shoulders. Our shop is small, like most of the places you find in Indoria Market. We mostly have purses and handbags piled up on the shelves or hanging from hooks on the wall. There is not a lot of space to move around once two or three customers come inside at the same time. We have been here for many years and have seen the market change a lot. The building is old and the stairs are quite narrow and steep. We spend most of our time organizing the stock so we can actually find what someone is looking for in the piles. It gets quite hot in the summer months because the breeze does not reach this far into the narrow lanes of the market. We just keep the small desk fan running and drink a lot of tea to stay focused. People come from all over to buy things in bulk around here. We are just one of the many small shops trying to get through the daily grind. We do not have any big signs or bright lights to attract people. Just the purses and a few of us working behind the counter.
