A. Legend Purses

Our workshop is tucked away in the Nabi Karim area, specifically on the first floor of the building at A-150. If you’ve ever walked through the lanes of Amar Puri, you know how crowded and narrow those paths can get. It’s a bit of a maze back here, especially being so close to the Nabi Karim Thana. We spend most of our hours dealing with bags and purses of all kinds. There’s almost always the smell of materials in the air and the constant sound of the machines running in the back. It’s a small space, so we really have to be careful about where we stack the finished pieces so we don't trip. I’ve been working in Paharganj for a long time, and the place hasn’t changed much in terms of the daily hustle. We don't have a big storefront with bright lights or signs. Most people find us through word of mouth or by just wandering into the right alley by mistake. The light isn't always great in the afternoons, so we keep several extra lamps at the workbenches. We cut and stitch every day. Sometimes we run out of a certain color and have to wait for the delivery guy to navigate through the local traffic. It’s just me and a few other people here. We keep our heads down and try to finish the batches on time. It gets hot in the summer, but the fans help keep the air moving.
