Amar Halwai & Caterers

Our shop is located at 4B/5917 in Dev Nagar, which is quite close to Khalsa College over in Karol Bagh. If you walk by in the morning, you can usually smell the sugar syrup and the frying snacks from the street. Being halwais, our days revolve around the big kadhais and making sure the sweets are set just right. It is a traditional kind of place. We have been in this spot for a while, and the neighborhood has changed a lot, but we just keep doing what we do. The kitchen stays busy with catering orders for weddings or small house parties. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three different orders are going out at the same time, but we manage to pull it off. Our workers are like family, some have been here since they were young men. We don't have a big office or anything like that, just the counter and the kitchen area where all the magic happens. People from the college often stop by, and we know many of the regulars by their names. We focus on the basics of good cooking without trying to be something we aren't. Karol Bagh is a noisy, lively place and we fit right in with the rest of the shops. Amar Halwai & Caterers is just a local business trying to do right by the people who eat our food every day.
