We operate out of Shri Sarangdhar Patkhede’s place in Naidevikhamgaon. It is a typical village setup. We did not see the point in getting a separate fancy office when we could just work from here. We focus on the kisan—the farmers—because that is who we are. Most of us have been working the soil since we were kids. In Naidevikhamgaon, the rhythms of life are dictated by the crops. When it is harvest time, nobody has a spare minute. When it is the off-season, we spend more time at the house planning for the next round of planting. We do not have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to make sure the local guys get what they need, whether it is seeds or just a bit of help with the transport. It is a very grounded way of living. We talk in plain English and the local dialect, mostly about things like fertilizer prices or the latest tractor repairs. There is no polish here, just dusty boots and calloused hands. Sarangdhar’s place is easy to find, and we are usually there if we are not out in the fields. It is a small operation, but it is ours, and we take care of it the best we can. We just take things as they come, year after year, crop after crop. It is the only way we know how to live and work.
