Dharmvir Agro Producer Company Limited is based out of Shivaji Nagar here in Buldana. If you know the area, we are at 1Ar/198/1. It’s a quiet spot, but there’s always someone coming by to talk about the latest harvest or the price of fertilizer. A few of us got tired of trying to sell our stuff individually because the middleman always took most of the profit. So, we set this up to try and pool our resources together. It’s been a learning curve for all of us. None of us are business experts, we are just people who know how to grow things in the dirt. Sometimes the paperwork gets confusing, but we manage. In Buldana, the weather changes fast and you have to be ready. We mostly deal with the grains and vegetables that the local guys are growing. It's about having a place where a farmer can feel like he’s not getting cheated. We sit around on plastic chairs and drink tea while we discuss which truck to hire or if the warehouse has space. It’s a very local operation. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. People just walk in or call us on the phone when they have a problem with their crop. It feels like a small community effort more than a real company sometimes. We are just trying to keep the farms running and make sure everyone gets a fair share for their hard work and their time spent in the sun.
