Out near Bidadi, at Chikka Bellandur, Carmelaram Post, in Varthur Hobli, you’ll find Wonderla Holidays Pvt Ltd. It’s a massive area to look after. Every morning starts with safety checks. We have to walk around and look at all the rides, checking the bolts and the belts. It’s a long walk, and by the time the sun is up, we’ve already covered a few miles. The location is a bit out of the way, near Bidadi, but people find their way here. We spend a lot of time maintaining the water systems and making sure the paths are clear of leaves. It’s a lot of physical labor that most visitors don't really think about. The staff here mostly lives nearby in the Varthur Hobli area. We have a break room where we eat lunch and talk about which machines are being difficult that day. The noise of the park is something you get used to—the screams from the tall rides and the music playing on the speakers. When the gates close, it gets very quiet and kind of eerie, honestly. We then have to start the whole cleaning process over again for the next day. It’s a big responsibility keeping everything running, but we just take it one task at a time. It’s a long day, but we’re used to it. The weather can make it tough, but we just keep going.
