Treasure Tree is tucked away in Richmond Town at C-122. It’s a relatively quiet street compared to the rest of the city. We like it that way. We aren't a big place. We have a few tables and a small counter. I started this because I wanted something of my own. It’s been a learning process. Some days are slow and I just sit and watch the rain. Other days, everyone comes in at once and we can barely keep up. We don't have a big sign out front. Most of our customers live in the apartments nearby. They come in for a quick bite or to take something home for dinner. We try to keep the menu short. It’s easier to manage that way. My wife helps out with the books and the ordering. We get our vegetables from the local van that comes around every morning. The stove is a bit temperamental, so you have to know just how to turn the knob. It’s those little things that make the place feel like home to us. We don't do any of that fancy social media stuff. We just focus on what's happening right here in the shop. If the food is good, people come back. That's our whole philosophy really. It’s not complicated. We just want to keep the doors open and the customers happy. It’s a small life but it’s a good one and we are fine with it.
