Running Star Entertainment out here in Mahalakshmi Layout near Madivala keeps us pretty busy. We are at 542, which is easy enough to find if you know the neighborhood. It’s mostly just a lot of gear and cables and trying to figure out where we put the spare remotes. People come to us when they need something to do or when they’re looking for a bit of a break from the usual routine. The layout of the place is a bit tight, especially when we have a lot of stuff coming in or going out for an event. Madivala is always moving, so there’s never a quiet moment outside our door. We spend a lot of our time checking equipment and making sure everything actually works like it’s supposed to. It’s not always glamorous work. Sometimes it’s just untangling wires for three hours or moving heavy speakers from one corner to the other. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything. It’s just this space where we get things done. Most of the guys here have been working together for years, so we don’t really need to talk much to know what needs doing. We just handle the entertainment side of things for the local folks and keep the business running. It gets dusty, and the coffee is usually cold by the time we get to drink it, but that’s just part of the job. We’re just here in the middle of it all.
