Sri Balaji Theatre

Our theater is located on KV Temple Street in Vivek Nagar, right over in Vannarpet at number 21. It’s an older building, so it doesn't have all the flashy lights and glass that the new malls have these days. We’ve kept it running for a long time because people in the neighborhood still like coming here. The seats have been around for a while and the floor might be a little sticky sometimes from spilled sodas, but that’s just part of the experience. We show the movies that people want to see, usually the big local releases. The projection room is a bit cramped and the sound system can be a bit loud, but it gets the job done. We have a small counter for popcorn and snacks, nothing too elaborate. The crowd can get pretty rowdy during the big action scenes, which is always fun to see. We spend a lot of time between shows sweeping up the aisles and getting things ready for the next group. The lobby isn't very big, so it gets tight when everyone is waiting for the doors to open. It’s a local landmark for many who grew up around here. We don't have fancy online booking that always works perfectly, but we are always there at the box office window. It’s a simple operation run by a few of us who just like movies and the Vivek Nagar community.
