Upahaar

You can find Upahaar at F 222 Sena Vihar, which is on the Kammanahalli Main Road in Ramaswamy Palya. The shop is part of the local landscape here. It isn’t a very big place, just enough room for the flower stands and a small area where we stand to work. We spend most of the day surrounded by greenery and the scent of roses. Kammanahalli Main Road is always busy, so there’s a lot of dust that we have to wipe off the leaves every few hours. It’s a constant battle to keep everything looking decent. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who take turns with the chores. One person might be out back cleaning the shears while the other talks to someone who just wandered in from Ramaswamy Palya. The Sena Vihar building is pretty recognizable, so that helps people find us. We don't do anything too complicated here. We just take the flowers as they come from the growers and try to keep them alive as long as possible in this weather. There are buckets of water everywhere, and sometimes we trip over them if we aren't careful. It’s just a normal part of the day. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the most modern shop. We just stay here in our corner and do the work that needs doing.
