Blooming Florist

Blooming Florist is located at number sixty-eight, just a short walk from the Food World in Malleshwaram. This part of town has a very specific feel to it, especially on the weekends when everyone is out and about. Our shop is quite small and tucked away, so you have to look for it. We keep things simple here. There are no bright neon signs or big advertisements. Most of the space inside is taken up by large plastic tubs full of fresh cut flowers. Every day we get a fresh delivery and we have to sort through them right away. Malleshwaram can get very humid, so keeping the flowers from wilting is a constant task. We spend a lot of time trimming leaves and throwing away anything that does not look right. The counter is usually covered in bits of string and discarded stems. People in this neighborhood appreciate the traditional stuff, so we always keep plenty of loose flowers and simple garlands ready. Sometimes we run out of things faster than expected if there is a local festival or a big wedding nearby. We do not have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the regulars by name. It is a nice way to earn a living even if our hands are always stained with green from the stalks. We just try to keep the buckets full and the water fresh for whoever stops by.
