Our spot is right across from the ICICI Bank in Koramangala VI Block, which makes it easy for people to find us even when the street gets crowded. We do a lot of the heavy lifting here, mostly dealing with big bundles of flowers and decorative stuff that takes up a lot of room. The floor at 32 / 1 C is usually covered in bits of string and flower petals by mid-afternoon. We don't really have a polished front office; it is more of a working space where we get things ready for different setups. Most of the time, we are busy tying garlands or sorting through marigolds that come in big sacks. It is dusty work, and our hands are usually stained from the stems and the dye. The noise from the main road is constant, but you get used to it after a few weeks of working here. We have some basic tools and a few stools to sit on when things slow down, but mostly we are on our feet moving crates around. Being in this part of Koramangala means we see a lot of the same faces every day. We just focus on getting the tasks done and making sure the inventory is looked after. It is a practical business without any frills. We keep the doors open to let the air circulate because it gets quite warm when we have a lot of stock piled up waiting to go out.
