Our place is on S P Road, right across from Sapna Garments. If you’ve been to Vijaya Nagar, you know this stretch of road is always full of activity. We handle flowers in a more wholesale way. We aren’t really a boutique. It’s more about the crates and the bulk loads. The shop stays open pretty long hours. Most of our work happens when other people are still sleeping. The trucks arrive and we have to unload everything fast. It’s messy work. There are crushed petals on the ground and water everywhere. We use a lot of string and old sacks to keep things together. My father started this and now I’m here most days. We don’t have a website or any of that. People just know where we are. Opposite Sapna Garments is an easy way to tell people where to go. We deal with the local temples and some of the smaller shops in the area. It’s a lot of haggling over prices. That’s just part of the job on S P Road. Sometimes the heat makes things difficult. We have to keep spraying water to keep the stock from drying out. It’s a basic life, but we are used to the noise and the constant movement of the market. We just keep our heads down and do the work day after day. It’s just how we’ve always done it here in Vijaya Nagar.
