Maheshwari Flowers

We are located at 1595/A 27th Cross, right on the 30th Main Road in Banashankari 2nd Stage. It’s a fairly busy intersection, and there’s always noise from the buses and autos going past. Maheshwari Flowers has been part of this corner for some time now. The space inside is mostly filled with plastic crates and those big galvanized buckets we use for the long-stemmed varieties. It stays pretty humid inside because of all the plants, which I suppose is good for them but it makes for a sticky afternoon for us. We don't really have a lobby or a waiting area. People just stand near the counter while we wrap whatever they picked out in newspaper or plain plastic. The floor is made of old tile that’s seen better days, and it's usually covered in bits of fern and chopped-off ends of jasmine strings. I spend a good chunk of my time just untangling things or checking the water levels. It’s a lot of manual work, and my hands are usually stained green by the time I head home. The 30th Main Road gets really hectic in the evenings, so we usually have the most people coming in then, right after work. It’s a basic setup we have here. We just focus on keeping the flowers fresh and making sure the shop stays open when people need it.
