Madhurs Florist

The shop is over at 28 1st Main in the 2nd Stage of KHB Colony. It’s a busy part of Basaveshwara Nagar, and we’ve been tucked away here for a good while. Most mornings start early, usually before the sun is even fully up, when the trucks arrive with the fresh bundles. There is always a lot of water on the floor from cleaning out the buckets and trimming the stems. It gets a bit messy, to be honest. We spend a lot of time just picking up leaves and dropped petals so people don't slip. Madhurs Florist isn't a fancy place with bright lights or anything like that. It’s just a regular shop where we keep the flowers in the shade to keep them from wilting too fast in the heat. Some days it is really quiet and I just sit on the stool watching the traffic go by on 1st Main. Other days, like during the local festivals, everyone is rushing in at the last minute. We do our work at the back table, mostly tying bunches with string or wire. The smell of the lilies can get quite strong by the afternoon if the door isn't left open. It’s just how things go here. People walk in from the neighborhood, sometimes just to ask for directions or look around. We just keep doing what we do every day.
