Koyal Florist

Our shop is located at 188/32 Kismat Nagar, right on CST Road in Sadashiva Nagar. It’s a bit of a lively area. I’ve been running this place for some time now. It’s not a polished boutique or anything. It’s just a regular flower shop where we do our best with what the wholesalers bring us each morning. Some days we get beautiful orchids, and other days it’s just the usual roses and gerberas. I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass vases and making sure the water isn't getting cloudy. It’s a lot of manual work that people don’t really see from the street. The CST Road traffic is always loud, and the dust sometimes gets on the petals, so I have to give them a little misting every hour. I keep a few chairs in the corner for people who want to sit while I finish their order. We talk about the weather or the local news while I work. I don't use any computer systems; I just write things down in a notebook. It’s a bit old-fashioned, I guess. The shop has a bit of a damp smell, but that's just because of all the water and plants. I like it, though. It’s better than the smell of exhaust from the street outside. We just stay open until the last of the fresh flowers are gone for the day.
