Jyothi Florist

Our shop, Jyothi Florist, is tucked away at 189/3. If you see the ICICI ATM, we are right next to it, across from the church in Lande Patil Colony. St Thomas Town is a nice enough area to work in. We have been here for a bit. It’s a simple setup. We keep the flowers in buckets and try to keep everything cool. Sometimes the ATM line gets long and people stand outside our door looking at the roses. We don't have a big team or anything. It's just a few of us. We deal with whatever the local market has that day. Some mornings the delivery is late and we have to wait around drinking tea until the truck shows up. It is not a glamorous job, especially when you are thorns-deep in roses at six in the morning. We just try to get the orders right. The church across the way keeps us busy on Sundays, as you can imagine. People want something simple to take inside. We don't do much advertising. Most folks just know we are the ones next to the ATM. It's a bit cramped inside when we have a lot of stock, but we manage. We just keep our heads down and work with the plants. It's what we know how to do. We don't have any grand plans, just staying open and handling the flowers that come in. It’s a living and it keeps us busy in St Thomas Town.
