Hanaya

Hanaya is located at 167 MLA Layout in Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar, or RT Nagar as most people call it. The shop is in a quieter part of the layout compared to the main commercial streets. It’s a small, standalone spot that stays fairly cool because of the trees nearby. We spend our mornings setting everything up, dragging the heavy metal buckets out so the colors are visible from the road. There’s always a bit of a mess with leaves and thorns on the ground, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working with plants. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations in the shop. The walls are just plain, and we have some old shelves that hold the smaller vases and some ribbon. Most of our day is spent trimming stems and making sure everything has enough water. The MLA Layout is a nice place to be, and we see a lot of the same faces every week. It’s a steady kind of life. Sometimes the deliveries are late, and we just have to sit and wait, maybe have some tea while looking out at the street. We don’t rush things much. We just focus on the flowers and making sure the shop is open when it’s supposed to be. It’s a simple way to spend the day, even if the work is a bit repetitive sometimes.
