You can find H T M Flowerist at 95 Shopping Complex in Jayanagar. It’s a big building and we are just one of many shops inside. I’ve been here for a long time, watching people come and go through the complex. It’s a bit cramped in our unit, but we make it work. We have shelves lined with vases and buckets on the floor. Jayanagar is a busy area and the shopping complex is always full of noise and movement. I start my day early, long before the other shops in the complex even open their shutters. The cool air in the morning is good for the flowers. I spend a lot of time just misting the petals with a spray bottle to keep them looking fresh. It’s a repetitive job, but I find it quite peaceful before the crowds arrive. We don't have a fancy catalog to show people. Usually, they just point at what they like and I put it together for them right there. My hands are usually stained green or red by the end of the day. It’s hard to get that color out sometimes. I usually eat my lunch sitting behind the counter, watching the shoppers go by. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s a steady one. We just focus on having enough flowers for everyone who stops by our little corner of the building.
