Fancy Flower Stall

You can find us at Booth No 18 in Shivaji Nagar. It’s a small space, just like all the other booths around here. Shivaji Nagar is always a whirlwind of activity, no matter what time of day it is. Being in booth number 18 at this location means we see a lot of foot traffic. Fancy Flower Stall isn't as fancy as the name might make you think; it’s just a name we’ve used for a long time. We focus on getting the flowers in and getting them out to customers quickly. There isn't much room for sitting down. We are usually surrounded by piles of loose petals and rolls of thread for making garlands. The air is always thick with the scent of jasmine and the sound of people bargaining nearby. It gets very hot in the afternoons, and we have to keep spraying the flowers with water so they don't wilt. It’s a tough way to spend the day, on your feet in a cramped space, but it’s what we know how to do. We get all kinds of people coming through the market. Some are in a huge hurry and others want to talk about the quality of every single bloom we have. We try to be fair and just keep the business running one day at a time. It’s a lively place to be, even if it is exhausting sometimes. We just hope the flowers look good enough for the customers when they arrive.
