Chakkala Flowers

We have been here at Vaishnav Vatika in Koramangala for a good while now. The shop is at number 1014, and it usually stays pretty busy with the local crowd walking by. Every morning, the fresh stock arrives early when the air is still a bit cool, and we spend the first couple of hours just trimming stems and getting everything into water. It is a lot of work that people don't see, mostly just wet floors and heaps of green leaves that we have to sweep up later. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a regular place where we keep the flowers as fresh as we can. Sometimes the traffic outside gets loud, especially being in Koramangala, but inside it stays mostly quiet. We have a few buckets lined up along the walls and a counter where we wrap things up in newspaper or plastic. Most of our days are spent just keeping the flowers hydrated and making sure the shop stays tidy enough for people to walk through. It gets a bit cramped when a big shipment comes in, and we have to move things around to make space. It is just us here, doing the basic stuff every day. We know most of the neighbors who stop by. It’s a simple routine that starts with the sun coming up and ends with us locking the shutters and heading home after a long day of standing on our feet.
