We’ve been setting up shop here at 25 Haines Road, right by Residency Road, for quite a long time now. It’s a busy part of the city, so there’s always noise from the traffic outside while we’re working. We mainly just spend our days dealing with all sorts of flowers. A person walks in wanting a bunch of roses for someone, and we just put it together right there. It can be pretty messy work most of the time. There are thorns that poke you and water gets everywhere on the floor. We don’t have one of those big fancy offices you see in magazines. It’s just our small shop with buckets lining the walls. We try our best to keep everything as fresh as we can. Some days the delivery trucks come in late from the market and we just have to sit around and wait. That’s just how things go in this business. It’s a small team of us here, and we know most of the people who live around this block. Sometimes the traffic on Residency Road gets so backed up that it makes it hard for us to get any deliveries out quickly, but we do what we can. We handle some weddings here and there, which always makes things really hectic for us. You’ll find petals all over the floor and ribbons getting tangled up in everything. It isn’t like those polished companies you find online. We are just local people doing the daily work.
