Vinith Banjara Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are located at house number 44 in Ward Number 1, right near the Sevalal Temple in Govindapura Tanda 1. This is part of Varakanahalli. Our company was started by the folks in the tanda to help our local farmers. It’s a small place, very close to the temple, so we hear the bells and the prayers all day. We mostly focus on the crops that grow well in this specific patch of land. It’s not a big corporate setup. We have a desk, a few chairs, and a lot of registers to keep track of the harvest. A lot of our members come from the Banjara community, and we try to help each other out with seeds and equipment. Life here revolves around the seasons. When the rain comes, the office is empty because everyone is out planting. When harvest time hits, this place is a mess of bags and paperwork. We don't have a website or a fancy logo. We just have our name on the wall and a door that’s usually open. We talk to each other in the local language and try to solve problems as they come up. Sometimes we disagree on things, but we always figure it out. It’s a practical way for us to survive and maybe get ahead a little bit. If you’re passing by the Sevalal Temple, you’ll see us there. We usually have some tea brewing if you want to chat about the crops. That's about it.
