Shanthala Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are based at the office of the Secretary of the Agriculture Co-Op Society. This is in Kalalughatta Village, which falls under the Thyamagondlu Hobli. Shanthala Farmers Producer Company Limited is the name we use. We are deep in the rural parts of Karnataka, working right alongside the co-op society. It makes things easier because the farmers are already coming here for their other needs. The village of Kalalughatta is a place where everyone knows everyone else’s business, especially when it comes to farming. We sit in a small office with the Secretary and keep track of what the producer company is doing. It is a lot of manual work, writing things in ledgers and talking to people who walk in from the fields. We don't have any fancy posters or a big sign outside. Just the regular life of a village co-op. The Thyamagondlu area is good for farming, and we are right in the heart of it. We help organize the produce and talk about the market rates. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is necessary. We usually have the fan running and a pot of tea ready for whoever stops by. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We are just a local group of farmers and workers trying to keep the Shanthala company running smoothly for the village. It is hard work but it feels right.
