Aroodha Farmers Producer Company Limited

If you’re driving down Gudadanal Road and you see the Sri Balabheema Hotel, we are right across from there at 2-8-197/4. It’s a busy little spot and easy to find once you see the hotel sign. Aroodha Farmers is basically just a collective of folks from the surrounding fields. We spent many years watching the middle-men take all the profit, so we figured we should finally start our own company to handle things. It sounds like a big title, "Producer Company Limited," but mostly it’s just us trying to stay afloat and help our families. We deal with whatever the season throws at us. Sometimes the market is good, and sometimes it’s a bit of a disaster, but we keep going. We don’t pretend to be experts at everything, but we sure know what grows well in this ground. The office isn't much to look at. It's got some old chairs and a lot of registers filled with names and numbers. People come in and out all day, usually dusty from the road or coming straight from the fields. We talk about seeds, we talk about the latest government schemes, and sometimes we talk about the hotel across the street having good lunch. It’s a community thing more than a business thing. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just trying to make sure the families here get a bit more for their hard work. It’s tough work, but it’s ours.
