Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School

Our school is located in Pukhraj Colony, over here in Bhatinda. It’s a bit of a quiet area compared to the city center, which is nice for a school setting. The Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School here is a straightforward place. We have the usual setup with classrooms, a small office, and a bit of open space for the kids to spend their break time. Bhatinda can get incredibly dusty and hot, so a lot of our time is spent just keeping the place clean and the water coolers filled up for everyone. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls, just some student work and maybe a few old photos from previous years. The staff room is usually the hub of everything, where we sit and figure out the schedule for the week over a quick cup of tea. It’s a bit of a tight-knit group here; most of us have been working in this building for a long time. We aren't trying to be the most modern or high-tech school around. We just provide a place for the children from Pukhraj Colony and nearby to come and spend their day. The gate needs a bit of oil because it squeaks every time it opens, and the playground grass is a bit patchy in the winter, but it works for us. It’s an honest, local school where we just focus on getting through the lessons and making sure everyone gets home safely at the end of the day.
