We are based out of Karsari in Basti. Our setup is right at Sanjay’s place, which serves as the hub for Survanshi Anand Farmer Producer Company. It is a very simple operation. We are just farmers who realized that we are better off working as a group instead of trying to handle everything by ourselves. Basti is a place where agriculture is everything, and we are right in the middle of it. We don't have fancy desks or computers. Most of our planning happens on paper and over cups of tea. We spend our mornings in the fields and our afternoons dealing with the business side of things. It can be a bit overwhelming sometimes when there is a lot to do, but we manage. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or polished stories. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays off at the end of the year. The soil here is good, but it takes a lot of sweat to get results. We have our good years and our bad years, just like everyone else around here. It is just a local business run by local people who understand what it means to work for a living. We keep our overhead low and our hands dirty. That is just the way it is in Karsari, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
