Budhwara Farmer Producer Company Limited is located over at Saroj Verma’s place in Meerapur Budwara. It is a very simple operation we have here. We don't have a storefront or big signs. Most people who need to find us already know where Saroj lives and just come by the gate. We deal with the local crops that the farmers around Budwara are growing. It’s mostly about getting everyone together so we have more say in how things are sold. The work is mostly outdoors, so our small office area is usually just used for quick meetings and keeping track of the weights and prices. It can get pretty cramped in there when four or five of us are trying to look at the same notebook. We don’t have a lot of fancy technology, just the basics to get the job done. The days are long, starting before the sun is fully up and often ending well after dark during the busy months. We deal with a lot of the same problems every year, like the rain coming at the wrong time or the prices dropping unexpectedly. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with big words or polished reports. We just want to make sure the farming stays viable for the people here in the village. It’s honest work and it’s what we know how to do best. We just take the seasons as they come and try to get the harvest in.
