Arbapur Farmer Producer Company Limited operates out of Old Basti. We are situated near the Kotwali Sheva Colony, and Syam Behari Singh is the one who handles the day-to-day management. Most of us involved in this company have been farming in the Basti district for decades. We know the land here very well. We decided to form this company because we wanted to have more control over how we buy our supplies and how we sell what we grow. It’s not a complicated idea. We just gather our produce together so we have more bargaining power. The office in the Sheva Colony is a simple place where we get together to talk about the upcoming season or current prices. We don't have any interest in looking like a corporate office. We are more comfortable in the fields than behind a desk. Our pincode is 272002, and we are very much a part of this local community. We try to help out the smaller farmers in the area who might not have the resources to handle everything themselves. It’s about being a good neighbor and making sure the local agricultural scene stays healthy. We deal with various crops and try to find the best markets for them.
