We are located on the first floor at #540/541 on Avenue Road. Being on the first floor means we get a bit of a break from the direct chaos of the street level, but you can still hear the shouting of the vendors and the bells of the temples nearby. The stairs up to our place are a bit steep, so we’re used to carrying heavy loads up and down them every day. The shop itself is filled with the sound of rustling silk and the clicking of calculators. We keep our best stock in the glass cases, though they’re always getting fingerprinted and need a wipe down. It’s a family-run sort of feeling here, even if we aren't all related. We know who likes their tea with extra sugar and who prefers to work in silence. The lighting isn't the best, but we know the colors of our silks by heart now. On rainy days, the smell of damp earth from the street mixes with the scent of the fabric, which is a bit strange but familiar. We spend a lot of time sitting on the floor sorting through different batches. Our ledgers are full of scribbled notes and crossed-out numbers. It’s just how we operate. We’ve seen Avenue Road change a lot over the years, but our little corner on the first floor stays pretty much the same, cluttered and busy with the silk trade.
