Karnataka Silk Industries

Karnataka Silk Industries is found at 41 1st Main Road in Sampangi Rama Nagar. This is a pretty established neighborhood and we have been here for a good amount of time. The street outside is usually lined with parked scooters and delivery vans. Our building is a simple structure that doesn't really stand out from the ones next to it. Inside, the floors are made of stone and they stay cool even when it is hot outside. We have several rooms dedicated to different types of silk products. It’s not a fancy showroom with bright lights and mirrors. It is more of a warehouse feel where things are stored and moved around constantly. We have a few staff members who have been with us for decades. They know where every single item is kept without even looking at a list. We don't spend money on big advertisements or fancy branding. We just focus on the daily work of sorting and shipping silk. The phone rings a lot and there is usually someone shouting across the room to check on an order. It’s a very hands-on environment. We deal with a lot of local people who have been coming to this area for years. There is always a pot of tea in the back for whoever needs a break from the lifting and packing.
