Uma Engineering Works

Our shop is No.D/F-4 in the Sardar Patel Complex. We are right on Station Road in the G.I.D.C. area. It’s a busy industrial zone, so there is always noise and trucks moving about at all hours. Uma Engineering Works is a small outfit. We’ve been in this complex for a long time now. The space is a bit cramped with all the equipment and raw materials, but we make it work for us. We do a lot of turning and milling for local clients. Some days the floor is so covered in metal curls you can hardly see the concrete underneath. We don't have a big sign out front, just the number on the door and some old stickers. People who need our services usually know where we are located. We aren't corporate people at all. We wear work clothes and we don't mind getting grease under our fingernails or on our shirts. The tea stall around the corner is where we spend our short breaks. Most of our work comes from other businesses in G.I.D.C. who need something fixed or made quickly. We don't promise any miracles, just a decent job for a fair price. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the day fixing them instead of doing the actual work. That’s just how it is with older gear. We don't have a website or anything fancy. We just rely on doing good work so people tell their friends. It’s a simple way to run a shop.
