Sharma Engineering is right at Plot No. 1. Being at the first plot makes it easy for people to find us, which is a good thing because the streets around here can get confusing. The sound of metal being worked on is the background music of our daily lives. We’ve got lathes and drills that have been running for years. There’s always a layer of fine metal shavings on the floor by noon, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a family-style setup, really. Most of the guys here have been working together for a long time, so we don't need to say much to get the job done. We take on all sorts of engineering jobs, big and small. Sometimes it’s a custom piece that takes all day to figure out, and other times it’s just repetitive stuff that we can do in our sleep. The smell of grease and burnt metal is just part of the air here. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. People usually hear about us from someone else in the trade. We just sit on the plastic chairs during our lunch breaks and talk about whatever is happening in the news. It’s a straightforward life. We open up early, do the work, and close the gates when the light starts to fade. It’s just honest labor in a small workshop environment, and that suits us just fine.
