Surjit Food Plaza

Our place is spread across shops three and four on the ground floor of the Nehru Shopping Complex. Amritsar is a busy city, and this shopping center is usually full of people running errands or going to work. Since we are right on the ground floor, people often just wander in while they are walking through the complex. We’ve got a few tables set up, and it’s usually quite loud with the sound of the market outside and the kitchen fans inside. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just a few of us making sure things are clean and the food is ready. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass counters and organizing the chairs. The floors get dirty fast with people coming in from the dusty street, so someone is always walking around with a mop. It’s a practical location for a quick bite. We see a lot of shoppers who are tired from carrying bags and just want to sit down for a minute. The lighting in the complex isn't the best, but we've added a few extra bulbs to our shops so it's bright enough to see what you're eating. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and we’ve seen shops around us change owners, but we’re still here doing the same thing every day. It's just a regular food spot in a busy shopping area, nothing too special but it's ours and it keeps us busy.
