You can find Jeet Kulche Wala right on Lawrence Road in Amritsar. We are sitting just opposite the Nehru shopping complex. It’s a famous road and we are happy to be a part of it. We specialize in one thing mostly, and that’s what we spend all our time doing. The 143001 area is always full of people shopping and walking around. We have a few benches and tables, but many people just stand and eat because it’s quicker and the atmosphere is lively. The tandoor is going from early morning until we run out of dough. It gets very hot near the oven, especially in the summer months when the Amritsar heat is really something. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. We don’t bother with fancy plating or expensive napkins. It’s about the food and getting it to the customer while it’s still steaming. Sometimes there’s a wait because we only have so much space on the tandoor walls. People in Amritsar know their food, so we just focus on keeping things the way they’ve always been. We buy our flour and spices from the same guys we’ve used for decades. There’s no secret to it, just hard work and being here every day.
