Santosh Chinese Food

I run Santosh Chinese Food at Shop No-471b in the Basant Avenue Market here in Amritsar. It is a small shop, mainly just a counter and a kitchen where the woks are always clinking. The market is a lively place, especially in the evenings when everyone comes out to walk around. Being in 143001, we get all sorts of people stopping by for a quick snack. It is not a sit-down restaurant with white tablecloths. Most people just stand by the counter or take their food to go. I have got a couple of guys helping me with the chopping and the frying. We use a lot of high heat, so the shop gets quite warm, but we are used to it by now. We do not do any of that fancy fusion stuff you see on TV. It is just the regular Chinese dishes that everyone in Amritsar likes. The Basant Avenue Market has its own vibe, and we are just one small part of it. Sometimes the ingredients arrive late or the power goes out, but we manage to keep things moving. We do not have a big menu or a fancy logo. It is just the name on the board and the smell of ginger and garlic in the air. If you are looking for us, look for the shop number 471b. We are usually there until late at night, just cooking away for the neighborhood.
