Sakhis Watz Kukin

We’ve been here at M-47/48 in Green Avenue for a while now. The place is right across from the park, which is nice in the evenings when families come out for walks. People in Amritsar know where Green Avenue is, so it’s not too hard to find us. We mostly focus on the cooking. It gets pretty busy around lunch and dinner times, but that is just how it goes in this line of work. The kitchen is always running, pots are clanking, and someone is usually chopping something. We didn't start with much, just a small setup to feed people nearby. It isn't fancy here, just a regular spot where the food matters more than the chairs. Sometimes the noise from the street gets a bit loud, but inside we are just doing our thing. Our staff knows most of the regulars who come by. It is just a local spot. Nothing more to it really. We spend most of our mornings getting the ingredients ready before the heat starts to pick up. Amritsar can get hot, so we try to keep the fans going. It’s a lot of work, staying on your feet all day, but we are used to it by now. If you are walking past Green Avenue Park, you can see us right there. We are just keeping busy and making sure everything is ready for whoever walks through the door.
