New Shakti Chavana & Sweet Mart

If you walk down Bhid Bhanjan Road toward the Ghanti Stand, you will find us right across from Patel Wadi in Bapunagar. This area is always moving and full of life. We start our day when most people are still sleeping, getting the big frying vats ready for the morning snacks. The smell of hot oil and spices is everywhere. It is a small space, and it gets really hot behind the counters, especially in the summer months. We make our chavanas and sweets right here on the premises. There is usually a line of people in the mornings looking for something fresh. We do not use any fancy machines, just big bowls and old recipes that have been around for as long as I can remember. Sometimes we run out of the popular items by noon, and we have to scramble to make more. The floor can get a bit slippery with all the cooking going on, so we are always scrubbing it down. We have seen the neighborhood change a lot, but the Ghanti Stand is still the landmark everyone uses to find us. It is a loud, crowded corner, but we would not want to be anywhere else. We know the kids who come in after school and the workers who stop by for a snack before heading home. It is just a local mart doing what we have always done for the people here.
