We make chocolate things here in Naroda. The factory is at 620 Gayatri Mandir Road, right in the GIDC area. It smells like cocoa most days which is nice for the neighbors. We’ve been in Phase-4 for a while. It’s mostly about mixing and cooling. We have these big vats and molds. It’s not a boutique shop, it’s more of a production place. We get the raw stuff in and turn it into bars and sweets. The floor is usually busy. We wear hairnets and aprons all day. It’s hot in Naroda but we have to keep the chocolate rooms at the right temperature or everything melts. That’s the biggest challenge. We sell to different shops around. Sometimes kids from the neighborhood peek in. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The machinery needs a lot of cleaning. That takes up half our time. We started with just a couple of machines and now the room is pretty full. Gayatri Mandir Road is easy to find. We don’t do much advertising, the work speaks for itself I guess. It’s a family-run kind of feel even though we’ve grown. Just people making candy and trying to do a good job of it every day. We don't have a big marketing department. We just focus on the sugar and the cocoa and getting the foil wraps on straight. It keeps us quite busy.
