Bera Samosa

We are located in the Bhadra area of Ahmedabad. If you go right behind the Karanj police station, you will find Bera Samosa. It’s a small shop, and most of the space is taken up by the big frying pans and the counter where we pile up the snacks. We start very early in the morning because the dough needs to be made and the potatoes need to be boiled and mashed. The smell of oil and spices usually fills up the lane long before most people are even awake. Being behind a police station means we see the officers coming in for a quick bite during their shifts. The heat from the stove makes the shop quite hot, especially during the summer months in Gujarat. We don't have many places to sit, so people mostly just stand around or take their food away in paper bags. We make a lot of samosas every single day, and by the evening, the floor is usually covered in a bit of flour. We try to keep things organized, but when there is a rush, it gets a bit messy. It’s just a local shop where we focus on one thing. We don’t have a fancy website or any of that. People just walk in because they are hungry and they like the smell of what’s cooking. It’s been this way for a long time now, and we just keep the oil bubbling from morning until night.
