Gurunanak Caterers

Our kitchen is based in the Old Municipal Quarter in Khokhra, over in the Maninagar area of Ahmedabad, 380008. We’ve been at this spot, 9/149, for a good long time. It’s a residential neighborhood, so we are surrounded by families who we’ve known for years. When someone has a wedding or a small get-together at home, they often walk over to talk to us about the food. We do the cooking and help set things up so the host doesn't have to stress. It isn't a massive operation, just a few of us working together to get the orders out on time. We use big utensils and traditional ways of preparing the dishes because that’s how we learned. Maninagar is a busy place, but our little corner of Khokhra is where we do all our prep work. We spend a lot of time cleaning lentils and preparing vegetables before the sun even comes up. It’s hard work on your feet all day, especially when the weather gets hot. We don't have a glossy brochure or a website; we just talk to people face to face. If you need food for fifty or a hundred people, we can manage that without much trouble. We just focus on getting the flavors right and making sure there is enough for everyone to eat. It’s how we’ve always done things here at the old quarters. It's a simple life and it keeps us going.
