Nima Caterer

Nima Caterer is run right out of B/27 in the Karnavati Society over in Ambika Nagar. If you have ever been around this part of Karnataka, you know it is a fairly quiet neighborhood until we start cooking for an event. The kitchen gets really hot, especially when we have a big order to prepare for. There is always the smell of spices and onions in the air around our place. We spend hours chopping vegetables and getting the big pots ready on the stoves. It is a lot of manual labor, standing on your feet all day long. We don't really have a storefront where you sit and eat, since we mostly just prepare everything and then take it to the venues. Sometimes the delivery van is a bit temperamental, but we always manage to get the food where it needs to go on time. It is a family-style operation really. My cousins and a few neighbors often help out when things get extra busy during the wedding season. We don't use any fancy machines, just regular stoves and a lot of elbow grease. Cleaning up after a big order is probably the hardest part, with all those huge greasy vessels to scrub in the sink. But it is what we do. We have been in the society for quite a while now and most people know where to find us if they need a meal for a gathering. We just keep cooking and hope for the best.
